Spring Break 2014 to The Bahamas!

Spring Break 2014! Sally, Steve, Mui, Matt, Stephen, Patty, Jason and I booked a cruise aboard the Explorer of the Seas with Royal Caribbean. We went to Nassau, Bahamas and Coco Cay (in Haiti apparently?) But it was sooo much fun! Started on Saturday from Port of Bayonne in Jersey and we spent a day at sea traveling to Port Canaveral in Florida first. The weather was still kinda meh, cloudy and not that warm, but the next day we arrived at the Bahamas! It was beautiful! Sunny everywhere and the beach was so nice. We went to Love Beach and swam in the clear blue waters. Walked around downtown Nassau for a while and ate the local Conch salad it was sooo yummy! The next day we were at Coco Cay and the weather was even nicer. We went parasailing, my first time, and it was so much fun! After that we just chilled on the beach for the rest of the day and collected seashells by the water. Then we had two days at sea traveling back up the east coast towards Jersey. Did a lot of activities on the ship, like going to shows, playing sports, and drinking. A lot of drinking. We got the unlimited drink package and we definitely brokeeven. The cocktails were so good and we kept getting them. And the food was so good. Our waiters Ronald and Rebello were awesome! We always ordered multiple appetizers and entrees and they always give us a few extra dishes. In the end we made them a card that says "Thank you for all the Yummy Yummies and enlarging our Tummy Tummies!" And when we got back home we all added Ronald on Facebook haha. Too lazy to expand on each day, but I wrote about them on my 365!

Now back to Ithaca in the cold weather. I miss the sun already.

The 5th floor promenade with a cafe that's open 24/7! Aka unlimited pizza!

The cruise has 14 floors I believe... huge.

Windjammer! It's the buffet-style dining area, but we always went to the seated dining room with better food.

The room, before they separated the beds and pulled down the top bunk.

Explorer of the Seas!

Cloud Nine bar I believe. Such a nice view of the entire ship and the ocean!

1st Formal Night.

Ice show with Beach Boys songs and dance. So relevant to rock music!

Fancy fancy.

Cocoa Beach at Port Canaveral. Quite the gray skies.

About the leave Florida for the Bahamas!

Florida sunsets so much nicer than Ithaca sunsets.

Night view of the top deck of the ship, with bars and pools.

Love Beach at the Bahamas!

The whole gang!

Flippy flip.

Againnnn.

The entire gang again!

On our 1-mile trek to the row of local food stores.

So this is what Bahamian kids do...

Such delicious daiquiris.

The ship is actually giganormous.

Coco Cay super sunny day!

The market where I got some souvenirs from.

Aaaaah.

Pre-parasailing.

On the boat to parasail.

As the ship gains speed..

And off we go!

Reminds me of Up.

Tanning my legs at Coco Cay. Forgot to put on sunblock and my calves got burned..

Long Island and Brooklyn Adventures

Went to Roosevelt Field Mall with Tiffany today and while we were there, we mall hopped since there were malls everywhere! They were all so close by and we needed something from different stores in each of the malls/plazas. Pretty productive shopping day! At night we went to Brooklyn Bridge Park and the weather was perfect! So nice outside and it wasn't even cold! It was nice seeing the Freedom Tower with the spire on top and it looks prettier too! I never knew there was a River Cafe there and the lights there were so pretty too!

Childish. At the Container Store with these cute garbage bins!

River Cafe!

OoOoOoOoh such pretty lights!

Beep beep.

Tilt Shift

Came across a website on tilt shift and decided to try it myself. The process is actually really easy, but it's hard to make it look good. It's hard finding a good photo that will look when you try to make it look miniature. I tried a few of my own which I don't think are all that great. I think the last one is the best of the 5 haha.

Beach in the Snow

Decided to be a little adventurous today and went to Coney Island with Tiffany to see what it's like in the winter. Just snow. It's actually really packed down, surprisingly, meaning a lot of people have been there already. We saw a snowman on the beach, and some lady skiing across the beach on the snow. But it was flat so she didn't really get too far... Then went to Toys R Us by Ceasar's Bay. LEGOs are so expensive... Glad I had my LEGO days when they were a little bit cheaper. We also watched the sunset at one of the pit stops on the Belt Parkway. Too cold to be outside so we stayed in the car. Hehe.

I need to do more adventures back in Ithaca. My days are getting too boring and mundane. Time to change that.

Snowman on the beach?

Can't even tell it's winter.

Always derping in my photos..

Holding up the palm tree!

Spring Semester

Second semester has been great so far. I have a really easy schedule and all my classes are pretty chill, so I don't have a lot of work that I need to do. This is a first. I kind of forgot what it's like in the previous semester where I'm always trying to catch up and stay ahead of the endless amounts of work piling up everyday. But I'm not complaining. Since I'm back on campus now, there's not much place to explore. I try to bring my camera with me around campus because I don't want my 365 to be all pictures from my room. So far it's been good!

Taste of Thai for lunch!

Tiffany's fancy schmancy artwork.

Frozen river.

My nightly routine!

Meep meep.

Brooklyn Adventures

Did some exploring today in Brooklyn. Tried to stay outdoors as much as possible since today was sunny, but the weather was still too cold to be hanging around outside for too long. Went to Brooklyn Heights/Promenade area and then got some snack at Brooklyn Flea again. It's such a nice area I don't mind going back multiple times. Afterwards, we watched the sunset by the East River next to Brooklyn Flea. Then grabbed dinner with a bunch of Cornell people who were all in the city today as well.

Downtown Manhattan from Brooklyn Promenade.

Candid at Brooklyn Flea.

I've still yet to get myself a mason jar..

Same picture as last week!

Lalala lights!

Sunset in Williamsburg.

Beach in New York City?

Sun didn't quite set over midtown yet.

Brooklyn Flea

Last minute idea to go to Brooklyn Flea to check it out this afternoon. You gotta walk up this shady staircase into what seems like an empty warehouse, but the inside is actually really nice.

Inside the Brooklyn Flea warehouse-looking building.

Playing with mirrors.

Picture frames! And me..

Ramen burger!!

It was alright.

Roadtrip time.

Pretty nice graffiti.

NYC Skyline

Got a chance to take some sunset pictures of New York City from Weehawken, NJ today.

From Weehawken, NJ.

Reality vs. reflection.
