Macaron Day 2013

Had a very impromptu plan at 3 AM last night. Decided to go around the city and get free macarons since today's Macaron Day, and my friend and I both had no plans. We started in Chinatown, and walked up to St. Marks area, going from one macaron store to the next getting free macarons. We weren't the only people doing it; there were a lot of other people like us. Then we took the train up to Midtown and hit up all the macarons stores as we crossed to the west side of Central Park. By the end, we got so tired of macarons so I brought most of them home. Today was pretty exciting and it felt like a scavenger hunt in the city.

Macarons everywhere!

Anna Militelle Light Cycles

I went to Winter Garden this evening to see the Anna Militelle Light Cycles. The pictures on the internet made it seem really magnificent and fancy, but in person, it's just some lights reflecting off the glass. It was a bit anti-climatic, but it was still fun going to check it out. We started in SoHo and walked to Shake Shack for dinner. Because it was blizzarding outside, we stayed there for more than an hour trying to wait out the storm, but it never stopped. So we decided to walk through the financial buildings to get to Winter Garden. I don't think people go there just to see the light cycles; I think we were the only people who went just for that. Regardless, it was still pretty fun hanging out in downtown in the blizzarding weather, and Shake Shack was definitely worth it.

Chilling inside Winter Garden.

The snow made my photos come our really good.

February Snippets

February was a very busy and eventful month for me. It was filled with prelims in a very short time span, and on top of that, the usual weekly problem sets and projects. Because of all the things that went on in February, last month flew by so quickly and now it's almost spring break. Spring semester always seems to go by so much faster than fall semester, partially probably because spring is something to look forward to as opposed to the cold Ithaca winter. Speaking of winter, it's been snowing almost every day here for the past few weeks. I'm so done with so. Everyday I walk out of my apartment and it's super cold or flurrying. I just want warmer weather to be here already..

Here's some photos from the 365 Project from February:

Goodies from the spring career fair.

I think these were grapes from West Campus dining halls. So delicious.

Finally sled down Libe on dining hall trays!

Casual.

Bored on a Friday night.

Still got some food I brought from home.

Legal!

Dinner during prelim season. All frozen food.
