Graduation

This has been such a crazy, fun, exciting, and memorable weekend. Yesterday was Convocation and we listened to a bunch of speakers talking to us about going out in the real world to chase our dreams and make a difference. Ed Helms spoke as the convocation speaker and gave us advice on being a fool, be the fool that's not afraid of failure and to live in the present. I thought he was a pretty good graduation speaker, giving advice and mixing in jokes here and there throughout his speech. Then the rest of the afternoon was spent at the Farmer's Market and napping until at night we went to Taughannock Park to have a picnic with almost alll the freshmen crew. Haven't hung out with everyone in one huge group since freshmen year and it was nice being together again. School work has really made everyone so busy in the past few years, involved in different stuff on campus and we're never free to hang out together. At night we sake bombed and celebrated Matt's birthday.

Today was commencement. Woke up early to meet my family, my grandparents flew all the way from Taiwan to see me graduate! Met on Arts Quad at 9 and it was so hot in black gowns. It was super sunny, but perfect weather for commencement. The entire class of 2014 marched from Arts Quad to Schoellkopf and sat in seats on the field. The number of people in the stadium was overwhelming, the entire stadium was filled with parents and graduates. Skorton gave his speech followed by the graduation ceremony by college. Then had the ORIE graduation at Sage Chapel, which was pretty quick. Professor Jackson called us up one by one to shake hands and receive this envelope with our class picture. Obligatory photos on Ho Plaza afterwards. Everyone was there and we took so many group photos it was great. It was so hot but well worth it spending time with everyone. And just like that the past 4 years flew by and we're no longer students at Cornell. Definitely had a blast here despite the intense workload. The people I met here are wonderful and they're what made the past 4 years awesome. Gonna miss everyone and all the memories made here at Cornell, and looking forward to all the fun we'll have in the future when we're in the real world.

Congrats to the Class of 2014!
